We’ve been ringing a new method during September. This is something that Andrew created, and is something completely new as far as we know. (No, I’m not going to explain the method until we either ring a long length and can name it, or we give up completely. For the purpose of this post, I will call the method NewMo.)

Two weeks ago (September 14) we worked on NewMo major, with Maggie on the trebles, Randy on 3/4, Andrew on 5/6, and Becca on the tenors. This is the first time Becca has done something besides Plain Hunt or Plain Bob, and she did really well, and seemed to enjoy herself. In fact, we all enjoyed ourselves working on this. But we didn’t get very far; perhaps 2 leads of a 6 lead method.

Last week (September 21) we had the same arrangement, and were able to get a little farther, but not a complete plain course.

Tonight, we had just three people, and tried NewMo minor. Maggie was again on the trebles, Randy rang 3/4, and Jane was on the tenors. It took us a few tries, but we were able to ring a complete plain course. It felt very nice, and sounded good. We rang it twice during the course of the evening. We talked about ringing a touch with just a single bob, but decided not to attempt that tonight. We decided to stop on a high note (as it were…).

We finished with a quick touch of Plain Bob minor with a single at home (twice, so it comes around).

A thoroughly fun night.
